While Facebook’s recent innovation, the messenger bots haven’t gained the kind of momentum as it was expected to gain, the social networking giant continues to develop its artificial intelligence features. It recently added a few more processes and options, which are aimed to provide a better user experience both now and in the future.

Facebook, earlier this week announced a couple of new developments, which is in line with its artificial development; it has added Spanish language support to the ‘M’ artificial assistant tool.

The ‘M’ was introduced first in 2015, which at the time was considered to be similar to the Apple’s Siri. It is mainly designed to give the users an assistant tool with the capacity to perform various tasks like finding information, pay bills, and organise the best deals and order products on your behalf. However, after the initial test run in the Bay Area, United Sates, the assistant was scaled back before eventually being rolled out to all Messenger users in the U.S in April 2017.

Coming back to the new Spanish language support, the feature is sure to open the system to a wide new range of users. This can be attributed to Facebook’s focus on its global expansion and cater to the users in their native language. A study conducted by TechCrunch on over 800 million Facebook users, it is noted that there has been a significant rise in the use of the multilingual sharing button. The feature allows the users to post in one language and make it appear in their native languages; with more than 437 million Spanish speakers in the world, the new option opens a much wider usage scope for M Suggestions. The new feature was first rolled out in Mexico on June 15th, 2017.

Apart from the Spanish language support to the M assistant tool, the second major announcement made by Facebook came from its engineering team who have claimed to trained the bots to negotiate to attain certain specific outcomes.

Yes, with the announcement, the users can rest assured that the bots will negotiate and provide a better deal. Mike Lewis and Dhruv Batra, two of the key Facebook researchers have said that they have been able to train their machines successfully to negotiate to provide an optimal outcome based on the numerical values. The process is better explained in the image below:

Although the systems currently do not provide immediate functionality, in future, however, with an automated system that is capable of negotiating with the bots, the users can get better deals on their online purchases as well as when they are trying to settle a dispute. The system will provide you better outcome without consuming users time. For some people it may sound scary that they have to deal with the bots and yet not be aware of it, it is worth noting that the huge benefits could offer to the users.
