In continual efforts of optimising the newsfeed, making it more user-friendly; Facebook has announced to that it’ll penalise the pages which push people to ‘like’, ‘share’ and ‘comment’. The baiting pages would not be pulled down the newsfeed. “For instance, often these stories claim to link to a photo album but instead take the viewer to a website with just ads,” a Facebook blog post on the update reads. It further claims, “The vast majority of publishers on Facebook are not posting feed spam”. After receiving lot of flake from users on the fact that Facebook trying to push too much spammy marketing content which was driving people away; this seems to be a strategic move to calm those people down.
