Mahindra & Mahindra, one of the largest vehicle makers in India is creating a buzz online by joining hands with Flipkart, the ecommerce giant; M2all, its in-house online platform; and Carbike.com, a micro site for automobiles, to offer its small SUV KUV 100 online beginning this week.
The vehicle maker had associated with Snapdeal to sell its new Scorpio before that rustled up around 3 million hits by selling around 100 units. This alliance was the prelaunch exercise that was done even prior to unveiling the new Scorpio.
However, this time the booking will start post launch of the KUV 100. According to the Senior VP, Sales and customer care, Veejay Ram Nakra, in the last two years the ecommerce scenario has changed dramatically.
The traffic generated online is no more metro centric, rather it is a phenomenon across India as per the ecommerce data, given the vehicle offered online is a product for masses. The company expects two to two and half times higher traffic than what it generated in the past. The online booking for the KUV 100 will start on Flipkart from 18th January, 2016, mid-night.
According to Business Vice President at Flipkart, Anil Goteti, going online is the strategy necessary for all the companies in response to the mounting demand of the customers spread wide across the country.
