Are you ok when brands target you with ads for products you have viewed before?

Here’s a look at last week’s results where we asked users about their preferred way of signing up on websites.

The results are very interesting.

  • Clearly, most of the respondents find using their Gmail account as the best option to sign up on websites with 64% of them opting for this, followed by social media accounts and the option of creating a new account both at 18%
  • This might be because it’s a relatively simple and quick process, and also, users get notifications about the latest posts and updates directly in their inbox
  • There is also a high chance that people don’t really want brands to have access to the information they share on their social accounts and use the same to target them aggressively for various campaigns or maybe they just don’t access their social accounts frequently and hence avoid the option to sign up using social accounts
  • Creating a new account is also not much favored, probably because users generally avoid lengthy processes and want to have quicker access to information that they want to view
